Learning the Love Language of God: A Study in the Ten Commandments

Most Christians know of the Ten Commandments but have not given much thought to how they relate to our lives on a daily basis. Not committing murder and adultery are pretty clear, but how are these commands, and the others, to be exemplified within our lives on Monday through Saturday? Secondly, how do they relate to our worship and devotion to God? During this class, these questions and many others will be explored.

Learning the Love Language of God is a Sunday School series exploring the Ten Commandments not as a list of restrictions, but as an expression of God’s love for His people. Pastor Don walks through each commandment in depth, showing how the Law reveals the character of God, exposes the reality of sin, and teaches us how to love God and one another faithfully.

This series demonstrates that the commandments are not a pathway to earn salvation, but a guide for those already redeemed by grace. We learn how the Law protects what God values—His name, His worship, human life, marriage, property, truth, and contentment—and how each commandment points us toward Christ, who fulfilled the Law perfectly on our behalf.

With clarity, warmth, and biblical depth, these lessons help believers understand why God’s commands are a blessing, not a burden. Together we discover that obedience is not legalism, but a joyful response of gratitude and love toward the God who saved us.

Join us as we learn to hear and speak God’s “love language” through His Law—and to walk in holiness empowered by grace.
